  • Return for Dinner, lunch enroute

Day 5: Leave to Sriperumbudur

  • 7:30 am Checkout and leave to Sriperumbudur
  • Visit birthplace of Udaiyvar and Adikesava Temple
  • Visit Varadaraja temple and 4 nearby temples in Vishnu kanchi
  • Return to chennai by 3.00pm for onward journey
  • Tour Ends.

1) Kapaleeshwarar Temple

is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva located in Mylapore, Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.The form of Shiva's consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal is from Tamil ("Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree").The temple was built around the 7th century CE and is an example of Dravidian architecture.

2) Parthasarathy Temple

Saptarishis, the seven sages worshipped five deities Panchaveeras, namely, Venkata Krishnaswamy, Rukmini, Satyaki, Balarama, Pradyumna and Aniruddha.
As per Mahabharatha, Vishnu, in his avatar as Krishna was acting as charioteer for Arjuna, the Pandava prince during the war with Kauravas. Krishna did not take any weapons during the war.During the fight between Arjuna and Bhishma, Krishna was injured by the arrow from Bhishma.The mark in the image in the temple is believed to follow the legend.
The place is called Allikeni, meaning a pond of lily as it is believed that historically the place was full of lily ponds.The place is the only place where the presiding deity is sported with a mustache.As per another legend, the place was once a Tulsi forest.
A Chola king named Sumati wanted to see Vishnu in the form of Parthasarathi and prayed at Srinivasa temple in Tirupathi.Srinivasa directed the king to visit the temple here built by sage Atreya and worshipped with another sage called Sumati.

3) The Kailasanathar temple,                

also referred to as the Kailasanatha temple, is a Pallava-era historic Hindu temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India.Dedicated to Shiva, it is one of the oldest surviving monuments in Kanchipuram.It reflects a Dravidian architecture and was built about 700 CE by a Rajasimha (Narasimhavarman II) with additions by Mahendra III.A square-plan temple, it has a mukha-mandapa (entrance hall), a maha-mandapa (gathering hall) and a primary garbha-griya (sanctum) topped with a four-storey vimana.The main sanctum is surrounded by nine shrines, seven outside and two inside flanking the entrance of the sanctum, all with forms of Shiva.The outer walls of the temple's prakara (courtyard) is also surrounded by cells.

4) Ekambareswarar Temple

is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva,It is significant to the Hindu sect of Saivism as one of the temples associated with the five elements, the Pancha Bhoota Stalas, and specifically the element of earth, or Prithvi.Shiva is worshiped as Ekambareswarar or Ekambaranathar, and is represented by the lingam, with his idol referred to as Prithvi lingam.
His consort Parvati is depicted as Elavarkuzhali. The presiding deity is revered in the 7th century Tamil Saiva canonical work, the Tevaram, written by Tamil saint poets known as the nayanars and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam.The temple also houses Nilathingal Thundam Perumal temple, a Divyadesam, the 108 temples revered in the Vaishnava canon Nalayira Divya Prabhandam.

5) The Vaikunta Perumal Temple in Uthiramerur

a village in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu.
The temple is constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture.
Vishnu is worshipped as Vaikunta Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Anandavalli.
The temple was originally built by Pallavan, with later additions from the Chola.
The temple is known for the inscriptions indicating the democratic practises of electing representatives for the village bodies during the regime of Parantaka Chola (907-55 CE).

• Any expenses caused by reasons beyond our control such as roadblocks, landslides, accidents, and any emergency evacuations.

Nevertheless, cancellations are costly to administer and involve dedicated staff time and communications costs. So, if any such necessity of cancellation arises, we must be notified of the same in writing.
    • Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as per cancellation and refund policy.
